A welcome that looks like home
When a US official and his wife were due to stay at the JW Marriott Istanbul Bosphorus just as they arrived in Türkiye, Guest Experience Manager, Metin, decided to give them an extra special welcome. Metin knew that the pair travelled for work often and so were always far from home - this gave him an idea for a wonderful welcome gift.
Metin got to work locating the couple's hometown, even tracking down the church they always used to visit together. The keen Guest Experience Manager then got in touch with a local watercolour artist and asked them to paint the church. When Metin left the picture in their room as a surprise, our members were overcome with emotion - saying they'd never received a welcome gift like this before. Metin was delighted to welcome them with a gift that reminded them of home, and now hangs in theirs.
