Reuniting a family through the Matrix

When one family were due to return to stay at the Penha Longa Resort, team member, Patrícia heard from the concierge that they were huge fans of the film, The Matrix. Naturally, it made perfect sense to surprise them in a Matrix themed manner.

The team set to work creating the perfect Matrix themed welcome. She prepared a welcome poster with a photo of the family, adding movie characters Neo and Morpheus, along with the phrase "Matrix Reunited". She also sourced personalised colouring books and giant cookies for the children. Ahead of their arrival, Patrícia even placed a teepee, the colouring books and cookies in the room - all surrounded by balloons for the young guests to enjoy. For the members, the team prepared a special box with red and blue Penha Longa chocolates, reminiscent of Matrix. The team placed these special items near the phone, with a little secret sign reading: "One call away from The Ritz-Carlton reality", referencing the film they so loved. Patrícia was so pleased to treat this family in a personal and thoughtful way.
